Privacy Policy

The British Columbia Sheep Federation (BCSF) is committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information you provide to us.

Information Collected

The mandate of the BCSF is to promote sustained growth and development of a unified, market responsive, profitable, and commercially viable sheep industry in British Columbia.  Personal contact information collected from members may be used to contact you with industry news, market information, distribution of news letters, information concerning meetings, extension activities, membership information etc.

When you become a member of the BCSF, you also have the option of not sharing your personal contact information. Simply notify us of your wish not to share this information at the time you become a member. If you are already a member and wish to remove your name from the shared member list, you can do so by contacting the Privacy Officer at privacyofficer@bcsheepfed.com.

You also become listed on our database by purchasing Canadian Sheep Identification Program (CSIP) tags from the Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers. When you purchase CSIP tags you must provide certain personal contact information including name, address, phone numbers, number of tags purchased etc. At the time of purchase you agree that the tag seller may pass on this information to the BCSF. We may also request you to provide additional information such as e-mail address for the purpose of communicating with you in an efficient manner. Use of personal information will be used specifically for sheep related material and will not be given out to other agriculture branches.

If you receive correspondence from the BCSF and you wish to be removed from our mailing list, we will stop contacting you on request by your emailing us at privacyofficer@bcsheepfed.com or by you replying to our correspondence directly.

We may disclose information when legally required to do so. In other words, we will disclose information when we in good faith believe that the law requires disclosure for the protection of our legal rights.

Access to Information

You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing the Privacy Officer at privacyofficer@bcsheepfed.com

If you have any questions about this privacy policy, the use of your personal information, or do not wish to be contacted by us please advise us accordingly.
